The United States, SURPRISINGLY, has no national law for managing e-waste. Recyclers take e-waste…but where does it go?
85% of the U. S. e-waste is sent to landfills and incinerators, many in developing countries that lack the capacity to reject imports, and are mostly burned releasing harmful toxins in the air!
Yearly accumulation of e-waste is enough to fill more than a million 18-wheel trucks stretching from New York to Bangkok and back.
